First Cricut Cut Pattern

This owl pattern if my first (an not last) pattern cut using the Cricut Joy Xtra cutter. Super easy setup of the design. Nice clean cuts. I printed this using my phone and the Cricut software. Now all that I will need to do is now work on getting what glass I want to use and stick the pattern to the glass and cut and grind as normal.

I took out the negative space from the pattern as you can see from the picture. This hopefully is just enough (no too much or too little) that was removed to accommodate the foil that goes on to the glass pieces. The negative space that was removed looks just about right for what is removed from the foil sheers when cutting by hand.

Hopefully using removal vinyl will also mean that I can save the pattern piece after cutting and grinding. I am afraid that the grind phase will cause the sticky to not be sticky anymore and the pattern will be a one time use. Which in my book is still a win. This saved so much time cutting the pattern out by hand. It also provides nice clean lines to follow when cutting the glass.

Now the next thing is to see if the white or black vinyl is a better choice for cutting out patterns. I am thinking the white will be best as that is what I have done in the past, the paper has been white and it works very well as contrast between the glass and pattern.
