- Rough Cuts – A different take on what I call “Rough Cuts.” This is the aftermath of cutting glass for this mobius.
- First Grind – The first grind. This is when I will usually take a step away, let the glass dry and come back to the project in a day or two later. This allows me to take a break from grinding and have fresh eyes if I need to grind again few more pieces for figment.
- It is also very important to take a reference picture of the pattern before taking it off the vinyl sheet and then just sticking it on your glass. I forgot to do that on this piece. The center piece was not fitting all that great and there were big gaps. All the colors were good and they fit as expected. The center piece was three positions off. I ended up rotating it three positions to the right and it finally all fell into place with no large gaps. Thankfully it was just the one piece that would misplaced. So take a reference picture if using vinyl or other pattern and make some reference marks as well.
- Before Foil – Before the foil is applied. Washed glass and glass marked. Marking the glass especially with geometric shapes is needed. I tend not to use a pattern to layout the piece after cutting. I take reference pictures and mark the glass with a sharpe marker.
I have also started to watermark my images at the bottom. Been having some troubles with social media sites where my images (and others) are getting stolen from our original posts and not getting credit where they are being posted again. Yes, I know they can crop the image to remove it, but one extra step for them to do if they want to take my pictures.
